I traveled with my parents to Dunai for the first leg of my journey to India from my village in Dolpo, Nepal. There, I met other children who, like me, were traveling to the CED Society to benefit from an extraordinary educational opportunity.

Even after twenty years, I have to laugh when I recall one of the most memorable events during the trip when our caretaker gave us bananas and apples. Since we had never seen these fruits before, we had no idea what they were, so we threw them under the bus seats and out the windows. Little did I know that these unusual fruits were only the beginning of how much my life would change after arriving at the CED and meeting brother Lama Tenzin.

Following many years of private school and my high school graduation, brother Lama Tenzin suggested I take a gap year to think about what I wanted to do in my professional life. After the gap year, brother Lama tried twice to make the arrangements for a few of us girls to study at a U.S. university, but we could not attend because we could not secure student visas. So as not to be discouraged, Lama quickly arranged for my enrollment to Graphic Era Hill University, the top-ranked university in Dehradun. I pursued my Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources and an M.B.A. in Human Resource Management. During and after university, I completed three internships at Salesforce in their Human Resources department. 

Currently, I am participating in an internship at Salesforce as part of the Futureforce team in the Human Resources department. Working as part of Futureforce, I am learning how to collaborate and connect with other Salesforce employees worldwide to impact business practices.

It is my dream to become an entrepreneur and create a business of my own. However, until such time, I am using what I have learned to work alongside Lama Tenzin to develop an exciting initiative called the PinkPADS Project.
